On Sunday 3rd December, the Autistic Society of Trinidad and Tobago (ASTT) observed the United Nation’s International Day for Persons with Disabilities with its Annual Christmas Party for some three hundred members, friends and volunteers at Autism Place, D’Abadie.

Despite the rainy weather, children and adults on the autism spectrum, and their families, ventured out to enjoy the day. Staff of ASTT’s parent support centres, Autism Place,D’Abadie and the Therapeutic and Life Skills Centre, Point Fortin, were assisted by many volunteers who facilitated both indoor activities and outdoor entertainment much to the delight of all.

The range of activities included face painting, games and card making with origami artist, Glendon Crepin. Outdoor entertainment included live parang performances, soloists, duets and music by DJ David,Haydn and crew.

Santa arrived to the cheer of the crowd, with helpers to share gifts and party bags for children and adults on the spectrum.

The Autistic Society of Trinidad and Tobago wishes to thank all volunteers, private, corporate sponsors and service clubs who helped to provide Christmas Hampers for families in need, as well as food and drinks for all our families and friends on this special day: Pizza Boys, Brava International Ltd., Nut King/Sesame Foods Ltd., Diana Candy, Republic Bank Ltd., JetBlue, St. Augustine Girls’ High School, Bishop Anstey & Trinity College East, Kiwanis Club of St.Helena and many more!
